Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma from the department of English literature. Mitchell began in the field of radio and television reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1996, she was hired by WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general reporter by NBC News two year later. In 1981 she started reporting from the White House. In 1988, she became chief congressional reporter. Mitchell was appointed chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell appeared as both an anchor and a panelist on the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell joined the panel in 1988's presidential debates that pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded numerous honors for her journalism achievements, such as the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. She was also honored with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award by Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell was the first reporter to report on White House stories for NBC News during the presidency of Ronald Reagan in office from 1981 to 1988. Her reporting included a number of significant stories, including the Iran-Contra controversy, tax reform and the budget and also the issue of arms control. Mitchell traveled extensively together with the president Reagan to meet along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
